“We really wanted the vibe of the day to be very relaxed….The inspiration behind the vibe and styling was the venue itself. Anran is so beautiful and full of greenery that we really wanted that to take centre stage, which in turn inspired the rest of the styling” M & J in Rock My Wedding
M & J came to us after seeing our work on Instagram and feeling our style fit closely with what they wanted to achieve for their wedding.
Armed with their desire for foliage to feature highly in their wedding, Miranda worked up different hanging design options for the focal area, The Glasshouse, of this unique exclusive-hire manor estate in South Devon. After consultations and site visits, M & J chose a long trailing foliage feature which we hung above the top table, congruous with the surrounding ferns, clematis and glasshouse plants. We dressed the long wooden trestles with simple foliage runners which allowed space for sharing platters.
Outside, surrounded by mature trees in lush summer foliage, we styled the humanist ceremony area with flowers and ribbons embellishing the rustic wooden cross back chairs. Two ground level displays with dancing towers of delphiniums and stocks marked the aisle end and led to a simply decorated arch of big blousy Coral Charm peonies, more delphiniums and foliage.
The bridal flower palette was inspired by the muted, dusty pink bridesmaid’s dresses and included Café Latte and Prince Jardinier roses and champagne ribbons. We added Claire de Lune peonies and Ives Piaget roses for the yellow touches and Apple Mint, Marjoram, Pittosporum and Eucalyptus to give the greenery the significance needed.
We love Lauren & Glenn’s (Through The Woods We Ran Photography) thoughtful and witty photography which captures this relaxed wedding with its considered styling.
